Meet the UN

'Meet the UN' sessions provide a unique opportunity for youth to directly engage with UN Country Team Members and other senior UN Officials. The sessions provide a platform for informal discussion, where youth can ask any questions from the UN officials.

Postage Stamp

The postage stamp, issued by the Ministry of Posts, Postal Services, and Muslim Religious Affairs, commemorates the 70th Anniversary of the United Nations, while highlighting that Sri Lanka is very much part of the United Nations system. The stamp was launched on the 70th UN Day celebrations by H.E President Maithripala Sirisena.

70-60 exhibition

The United Nations in partnership with the Government of Sri Lanka, jointly developed a photo exhibition that highlight the Sri Lanka – UN Partnership. The 70-60 exhibition was officially opened by H.E the President, Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and the Prime Minister, Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe, at the 70th UN Day celebrations.


A Video Documentary was produced by the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation in partnership with the Ministry of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media, which showcases Sri Lanka’s historic 60 year journey with the United Nations.


The United Nations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs developed a Publication that highlights the Sri Lanka - UN Partnership through a collection of photographs. The publication also features a snapshot of UN agencies, funds, programmes and organizations and their establishment in Sri Lanka.

Newspaper Supplement

A newspaper supplement on the 70-60 partnership was developed in partnership with the Ministry of Mass Media and Information. The supplement was published and distributed by the Sunday Observer – Lakehouse Publications on Sunday 25th October.
